10 Magical Days out this Christmas

To help you make this Christmas great fun for your little ones (and you!), Hollie from Baby in Bucks has put together her top 10 festive days out in Buckinghamshire. These events have all been adapted to make sure they are safe for you to attend and give your little ones the chance to still see Father Christmas. They range from full days out to short visits and include some great affordable options.

  • Once Upon a Christmas at Odds Farm

Odds Farm Park has been sprinkled with Christmas magic and this year Father Christmas invites you to join him for an enchanting and socially distanced group story-time. Visit a sparkly wintery woodland, the North Pole and the Elves Toyshop as well as all the usual magic of the farm.

  • Farmer Christmas Land at Green Dragon Eco Farm

Children will enjoy a magical Christmas experience in the Enchanted Forest including meeting Farmer Christmas and sitting on his tractor! They’ll make special reindeer food to take home and even feed real reindeer.  

  • Santa Steam Special at Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway

Santa’s Steam Trains will travel to the North Pole where children will have the thrill of meeting Santa in his Grotto and where the Great Man’s Elves will give each child a thoughtful present.

  • Christmas Walk Around at Dobbies, Aylesbury

Step into a Christmas wonderland and enjoy walking through many festive scenes at the walk around at Dobbies. Tickets are just £3 per person so this is a really affordable option. You can also book in advance to visit Santa in his grotto and visit the Magic Christmas Tree.

  • Hale Leys Christmas Grotto

Santa Claus is coming to Aylesbury! The grotto is in a new more spacious location this year and is brought to you by Stay and Play. Each child will meet Santa and receive a present and home-made cookies.

  • A Peter Rabbit™ Winter Adventure at Cliveden and Hughenden

Treat your little ones to the magic of a Peter Rabbit™ winter adventure activity trail around the gardens. Young nature adventurers can lend a hand to some of Beatrix Potter’s well-loved characters and solve the clues to earn their special trail badge and certificate.

  • Waddesdon Christmas Lights and Fair

Christmas at Waddesdon is back with magical lights and a festive fair. Enjoy their enchanting outdoor extravaganza that will brighten the end of your year.

  • Santa’s Grotto with Peter Rabbit™ and Friends at centre:mk

Visit Santa’s Grotto and step into the wonderful World of Peter Rabbit™. Experience an immersive theatrical Christmas adventure with Peter Rabbit. Each family will spend 25 to 30 minutes enjoying the experience, which includes a decorated Christmas Elf biscuit and a gift from Santa.

  • Missenden Abbey Christmas Fair, Illuminations and Brunch with Santa

Not only can you visit the annual Christmas Fair but for the first time ever you can experience festive illuminations throughout December at Missenden Abbey. You can also treat your little ones to brunch with Santa.

  • Vintage 1940s Christmas Grotto at Bletchley Park

Meet Father Christmas in Bletchley Park’s beautifully decorated mansion, where children can tell him their Christmas wishes and take photos surrounded by vintage toys, Christmas trees, 1940’s greeting cards and decorations. All children will receive a lovely Christmas gift to take home.
