Autumn and Halloween family fun in Bucks

With the leaves starting to change colour and autumn approaching I’ve put together my pick of the best activities for you to do with the kids this autumn in Bucks.

Enjoy a Children’s Spooky Afternoon Tea at Waddesdon Manor

Treat the whole family to a spooky Halloween tea with ghost meringues, a mummified gingerbread man, spooky jelly snakes and more.

You will also be able to carve a pumpkin at The Stables and take part in a Halloween Trail to find the creatures of the night hidden along Miss Alice’s Drive.

Go on a Scarecrow Hunt at Hughenden

Find the harvest scarecrows in the Walled Garden at Hughenden throughout October.

From 16th Oct – 2nd November discover the trees at Hughenden which have been given at autumnal make-over on a family self-led trail around the gardens.

Create your own Halloween Biscuits with Teacups and Tandems

Teacups and Tandems will be running children’s Halloween workshops on Friday 30 October where they will create spooky biscuits in their beautiful workshop.

They also have Halloween kits to decorate your biscuits at home.

Halloween Pottery Painting at Bojangles Creative Café

Paint your own pumpkin and other Halloween inspired pottery at Bojangles from now through to the end of October. They also have takeaway kits available for you to paint at home and then return to them to fire and glaze.

Spooky Sensory at Dragon Sensory

Dress up in your scariest outfit for some spooky sensory fun from 22 – 30 October. You’ll get to pick and carve your own pumpkin, decorate a Halloween tea light, make a ghoulish witches brew and scavenge for trick or treats.

Get the Perfect Pumpkin Photo at Farmer Paul’s Pumpkins

If you’re looking for somewhere to get the perfect photo of your little one surrounded by funky looking pumpkins then this is the place for you. All of Farmer Paul’s Pumpkins are displayed in ‘The Pumpkin Barn’ where they have several displays set up for the perfect pumpkin and spooky photos. Pumpkins start from as little as 50p.

PYO Pumpkins at Peterley Manor Farm

The pumpkin field at Peterley will be open again this year for you to PYO from 17th October. They will be open every weekend and all Tuesday – Sunday during half term. Click here for opening times.

Pumpkin Pick Up and Carving at Odds Farm

The Pumpkin Patch will be open for little ones to pick up their own pumpkin and then carve it from 24th October – 1st November. Plus enjoy all the usual fun animal and play activities at Odds Farm.

Go on a Pumpkin Trail at The Eden Shopping Centre

From Saturday 24th October to Sunday 1st November the Eden Centre are running a spook-tacular movie-inspired Painted Pumpkin Trail. To take part simply visit the Eden website and download the trail. You can also fill in an online form as you go! The trail begins at The Famous Faces Pumpkin Patch in Eden where you will find your first question!

Then follow the COVID-safe Halloween trail around Eden to locate answers to all the cinematic clues to be in with the chance of WINNING a fang-tastic prize!

Pick up a Pumpkin and Play at The Patch MK

Grab a wheelbarrow and head into the enormous pumpkin patch at The Patch MK to choose your perfect pumpkin. You’ll also be able to get some great photos as they’ve set up the perfect Insta backdrops including a house made of pumpkins and a huge PUMPKIN sign.

Your little ones will love all the play areas which include slides, a bale maze, a bale mountain to climb on and run round, a barrel train ride (£2.50 extra) and a tractor to climb on and ‘drive’.

Tickets are currently sold out but keep an eye on their Facebook page as they may release more.

Visit Strawberry Grove Café for a Spooktacular Halloween Afternoon Tea

Available from 20th-31st October this seasonal afternoon tea is available in both their Marlow and Maidenhead cafes. There is a special menu for adults and little ones, both including unlimited hot drinks.
