With everything we’re going through right now we’d like to share some positive information about businesses locally still offering their services to many of you.
Whether it’s an online fitness class, or food dropped on your doorstep, a variation of people in Bucks are working hard to help those stuck in self-isolation. We love seeing how this community has come together to support one another, minus 1% of the population who we’ve seen fighting in the supermarkets. Please note this is subject to change, we will update it as much as we can, keep an eye out for information on our social media channels.
We’ve all been advised to stay at home as much as possible. It isn’t necessary to “pop” to the shops on a regular basis. Use what you have in your cupboards and your freezer – dig out that old tin of lentils you’ve had for 3 years and turn it into something delicious by using recipes like these: https://www.rachelscreativecooking.co.uk/tarka-dhal/
However, if you fancy the occasional takeaway, or need a food item urgently, the following businesses are here to help. Wherever possible have things delivered. The less cars on the road the less likely our key workers are needed to attend road traffic accidents. Please everyone, stay indoors!
If you are not on this list and would like to be please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
In these difficult times we need all the support we can. As our seating area has had to be closed down, we have stepped up our already busy delivery operation so our customers can still enjoy our burgers directly in their house.
We take pride in our burgers and only use the best fresh ingredients. Our homemade Mac ‘n’ cheese is made freshly in store every day, as also our onion rings and Mozzarella sticks. We have 5* hygiene ratings.

Teacups and Tandems
Although our workshops have all been cancelled, we are still taking orders for biscuits which can be posted. Ordered can be placed via our social media pages or on email.
Orders take 3-5 days working days.

The Fitness Garden
The Fitness Garden will be launching our online community this week which is a little earlier than scheduled. It makes sense in line with the increased need for support for people looking to strengthen their health, fitness and mental wellbeing in unique circumstances. Our private Facebook group THE FITNESS GARDEN ONLINE will be a hub of FREE resources for people to become educated around Health, Fitness and Mental Wellbeing. By increasing people’s knowledge around these subjects we believe it will help them to make better choices on where and how to engage with activities to suit their personal circumstances. As a not for profit organisation we will be working with partners in the industry to offer regular free content to our online community.
To join THE FITNESS GARDEN ONLINE you just need to search for us on the Facebook search bar and request to join. We already have some home workouts and mindset coaching content available. There is content scheduled from Fitness, Yoga, Pilates and Mindset professionals around the UK and some guest appearances planned from coaches in the U.S. All of this will always be a FREE resource.

The Kings Head, Aylesbury
We’ve opened a Food Hall/Farm Shop in the old stables in our courtyard, selling staple foods – milk, bread, eggs, flour, veg and fruit and coffee. We also have draught and bottled beers, wines, soft-drinks, tea and coffee and meals for takeaway.
We really want to support and help our local area and those who live in the town centre and around us; as well as wanting to look after our staff and keep ourselves busy! So as soon as we heard the announcement Friday 20th March, that all pubs had to close, we set about creating a shop and stocked it from scratch in 48 hours. It was an empty stable on Friday night, but by Sunday night, all we needed was the veg and fruit to put out on display.
Using the amazing local suppliers who we have worked with for years, we’ve had constant deliveries and we keep in touch daily to make sure we have regular deliveries.
“We are so proud of our staff who have worked hard with us to get our shop up and running, and our suppliers who are working with us to keep stocks up. These are such unusual times that sticking together, keeping in touch and not letting our spirits drop, is important!”
Opening hours are 10am until 7pm, although these could change depending on when we find customers want to come in – in either case it is very different from what we’re used to with pub hours! We use social media throughout the day, to let everyone know what we’re doing, what we have in stock and what we’re expecting the next day. We also love to hear what customers would like us to stock.
We have bread from Tring, eggs from Aylesbury, milk and butter due in from Prestwood, bacon and sausages from Aylesbury too and of course great beer to take away in 2 & 4 pint containers from The Chiltern Brewery! All our veg and fruit comes to us via our local supplier in Aylesbury.
The King’s Head has been the heart of Aylesbury for 565 years. In that time, we have weathered all manner of local, national and international happenings – ‘Flu pandemics, Civil war, world wars and by the grace of God, we shall weather this too! We have no intention of closing our doors and want to do all we can to help and support those around us.
The Spice Merchant
Although our three restaurants are temporarily closed for dining in, we’re still delivering takeaways between 4.30-9.30pm daily via our Home Delivery Service, Feast-Online (www.feast-online.co.uk). Our drivers are taking all of the necessary hygiene precautions and will be wearing gloves. Your feast box will be dropped outside your door.
Customers can pre-book and pay for their order up to three days in advance online.

Pinewood Nurseries, Stoke Poges
As this pandemic evolves we have taken the decision to close our shop at 6pm Tuesday 24th March and move to a click and collect pre-order service. We feel changing to a collection only service is best for the foreseen future to protect our customers and our staff, and follow the government guidelines.
We will be launching an easy online order service in the next few days. You’ll be able to order essentials and collect them on either Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. We will be closed all the other days preparing these orders and ensuring our supply chain is not under pressure.
With the online system, which will be taking orders for next week, you will pay £5 deposit and then the balance on collection, which will be through the window of the shop by card and then we’ll bring your box out in a trolley. This will keep us all safe.
Next week we are hoping to be able to give customers a one hour slot which we hope people will stick to. So we can ensure that there is a queue at no point.
People will be sent a link on their collection day to pay the balance only if they have someone else collecting the order. Otherwise, it will be easier for us if you just pay by card when you collect, but of course our priority is keeping things smooth and easy for our elderly and those self-isolating.
We are trying our upmost, and will be adding COOK meals, local cakes and plants and compost to the form over the coming weeks.
We are very grateful to the volunteers who have come forward to assist with this website development.
Roast Lab Coffee Roasters
We are still running our online business. We are respecting the 2 metre social distancing and are giving local customers the option to collect from us, leaving the parcel outside of the premises and making only online transactions. We also offer free delivery to our local customers in Farnham common, using the same method as collections or we post packages out further afield.
We are happy to share that after a recent food inspection by South Bucks District Council, we received a 5* Food Hygiene rating. Measures we take as standard are:
- Storing our green and roasted beans separately in official food grade safe barrels with air, water and tamper proof tight seals
- Wearing gloves and hair nets whilst working to prevent contamination
- Washing our hands regularly with hot soapy water for at least 20 seconds
- Cleaning and sanitising all preparation and work surfaces before and after each use
We are adhering to Government guidelines and will stay open for business while respecting the social distancing and non-contact regulations.

We are currently vetting patients and asking specific health related questions before we see them if they are not registered with us. They are to contact me directly on 07946 769032 to answer questions before being seen. This is to protect our staff and other patients against Coronovirus.
I am available on that emergency number 10am-6pm. I will then proceed to see them on a Monday or Saturday once they have been vetted.
I will be at the practice Mondays and Saturdays between 10am-3pm to see our own regular patients so we can see walk in patients during those times.
We will only be seeing fee paying patients. The cost of the emergency appointment is £35 + any treatment required.

Due to the current circumstances having an effect on everyone, I am offering my design, photography and online services to small business that may need content as a small favour in this difficult time. This is allowing me to connect more with the local community and gain new clients for the future. After all, a little bit of networking goes a long way!
I am also working with local businesses who have taken this ‘down-time’ as an opportunity to enhance the marketing and design aspects of their business. I am working with companies to enhance their social media strategy, develop visual content and even rebrand.
