WIN a 50 cl bottle of gin from the Campfire range, 2 glasses and a selection of tonics.
Campfire Gin definitely does what it says on the bottle, that nice warm and cosy feeling of sitting round the campfire sipping on a Gin, hopefully with friends for company.
Of course, you don’t need to have a real campfire – these Gins are refreshing in their flavours wherever you enjoy them and can, of course, be enjoyed at any time … as we discovered.
We took on a gin tasting evening, with four award-winning Campfire Gins and the new Domestique. The 10cl size bottles we had were the perfect way to enjoy the different flavours – and with 4 standard measures per bottle each one is just enough for your very own tasting party (remember the Rule of 6 though) or for taking camping for that fireside moment.
Campfire London Dry – a very nice classic Gin with no heavy aftertaste. Newbies to Gin will like this, it’s very reminiscent of a summer’s afternoon. In 2019 this was used to create the 2019 Worlds Best Martini
Campfire Old Tom – beautifully flavoured with some good fruity hints and taste of spicy wood – thoroughly enjoyable – and certainly blended well with a Mediterranean tonic
Campfire Cask aged – does what it says on the bottle. Having been rested in ex-Bourbon oak casks you can definitely taste the hints of Bourbon and vanilla which is surprisingly pleasant, especially if you are a whiskey lover, and teaming this with Ginger Ale made the perfect fireside tipple
Campfire Navy Strength – ooh, now this one has a punch, its slightly more alcoholic at 57%, but well worth it and is also surprisingly smooth. The Gin flavour really shines through big and bold – definitely our Autumn night favourite
Domestique – After falling in love with the story and the bottle itself, we decided it was decadently smooth and flavoursome, the mix of botanicals gave us hints of florals and oranges leaving us with a spring in our step – very nice indeed
And, if like me, you are an empty Gin bottle collector– then these bottles are perfect for that post Gin trophy display.
