Chalfont St Peter Feast Day on the 23rd June
This annual festival dates back to 1229 when King Henry 111 granted to the Lord of the Manor, the right to hold an annual fair on the eve and day of the Feast of St Peter.
This year there was not only a fair, but also stalls run by local charity groups and businesses artisan crafts, performances by local schools, a quirky dog show, fantastic classic cars, and an evening concert by the Abba Stars Tribute Band which had everyone singing and dancing as sunset fell after a beautiful summer’s day.
This highly popular family event is the highlight of the Chalfont St Peter year. It’s an opportunity for neighbours to get together and for local organisations to raise their profile within their local community.
A special mention goes out to all of the Festival Friend volunteers who helped make the whole thing possible, as well as the generous donations from local businesses such as Fairweather Insurance and organisations like the Parish Council and local Churches.
Festival goers also generously donated £2,636.88 on the day and this will be donated to local good causes.
The next event organised by Feast of St Peter Ltd will be the Christmas Fun night on Friday 7th December.
