Migraines & Me: Chapter 28

Would you like the good news first or the bad news? Okay, I’ll start with the bad, I think it’s best to end on a high!

I had two migraines! I was gutted. My sister and I were driving to watch our boyfriends play football and all of a sudden my eyes started to see flashing lights. At first I’m always unsure as to whether I’ve looked at a light and it’s stuck in my vision, or if it is an actual migraine.

This occasion was definitely a migraine, and the first of two in one day. Luckily I’m always carrying naproxen with me, so I immediately took one tablet which made sure the migraine wasn’t a bad one (a delay in taking painkillers has a major effect). My eyes cleared up and the headache wasn’t too bad but then a couple of hours later it happened all over again.

I recently bought some essential oils from Harmonise You which I have been meaning to try when a migraine occurs, but it’s scary to try something new and risk the chance of being in severe pain and your vision being distorted for a long period of time. I will keep you updated if I try the oils!

Okay on to the good news… I had two migraines in one day but that was it! The last time I had a migraine, I had one almost every day for three weeks! I felt like I was under house arrest but this time I felt free. The following day I felt slightly anxious that I would get another migraine but I didn’t. This is such good news.

It’s been two weeks now and I’m still migraine free! Let’s see if I can make it until the end of the year migraine free!

If you suffer from migraines I would love to hear from you, please contact
