South Buckinghamshire-based Green Cellars is an online wine company selling wines that are green by nature, that being Organic, Biodynamic, Sustainable, Vegan or Vegetarian, all certified or practicing in these ways.
Founder Paul Van Zijl explains “my background comes from the restaurant industry where I worked for 20 plus years with my journey starting in Cape Town, South Africa. Most recently I had been working the Brasserie Blanc group connected to Michelin starred chef, Raymond Blanc, and grew the White Brasserie pub group from 2 to 20 pubs. Before this I was with the well-known steak group, Gaucho.
I have always loved wine and working in the restaurant industry allowed me to be on a constant learning curve of tasting, coaching and helping curate wine lists. This has led me to start Green Cellars, a wine company with an eco-friendly approach, representing family owned, small wineries from around the world. I intend to bring you wines that are both delicious and interesting, and wines I’d happily have in my personal rack!
Wine can be pretentious; we don’t do that here. We are grounded, real and honest and we want to take the ponce out of wine to allow people to feel comfortable to ask any question without it being intimidating. Our wines are well priced (generally cheaper than anywhere else) meaning you can come here and buy at consistently the same price because we won’t constantly be discounting.
Please order in multiples of mixed cases of 6 as this will help reduce our carbon footprint compared to smaller, more regular orders.
To order, simply visit www.greencellars.co.uk, select your wines, pay and I’ll deliver them to you.
