Hollands Farm Development Brief consultation begins

Lasting six weeks, the consultation asks for the public’s feedback on the plans for how to implement approximately 467 new dwellings, primary school, and link road, known as the ‘primary route’ through the site in Bourne End. The development brief will be available to read in full, as well as supporting documents, to help respondents taking part in the consultation, which will close at 5.15pm on 17th February 2021.

Hollands Farm Development background
The Hollands Farm site is 23.74 hectares of land on the eastern side of Bourne End. It has been allocated for a development comprising approximately 467 dwellings, a new primary school, and link road between Princes Road and Hedsor Road. A local liaison group was set up in August 2019 when the development brief process started, and this public consultation now allows the wider public to comment on the brief.

About the brief
The development brief has to adhere to the requirements set out in policy BE2 of the Wycombe District Local Plan (WDLP), and these elements cannot be changed. The WDLP was adopted in 2019 and sets out how development should take place in the former Wycombe District Area up until 2031. The consultation is for responses to the draft development brief, and two supporting documents – the Appropriate Assessment and the Sustainability Appraisal. All are available on our website.

The purpose of this development brief is to:

·       Explain the planning policy context in which the development will be considered

·       Identify the key constraints and opportunities affecting the development of the site

·       Set out the vision for and key objectives of the development

·       Establish key principles and requirements for how the site should be developed

·       Provide an illustrative framework showing the proposed layout of the site

Once the brief is adopted it will become a Supplementary Planning Document, having material weight in planning decisions for the site.

How to respond to the consultation

Responses can be made online, by email, or in writing to the council. All relevant information, supporting documentation and guidance on how to make comments will be available on Your Voice Bucks. All responses received by 5.15pm on 17th February will be considered, and the development brief amended as necessary. Responses will be compiled into a Consultation Statement, to be made public when the brief is adopted.
