Knead Pizza

As lockdown 2.0 (The Lockdown Returns) keeps us at home I’m all about finding the little moments which can make life more enjoyable. Food seems to be the one thing which continues to bring a smile to my face and knowing I’m getting something delivered to enjoy gobbling at home can help push me through the day.

In this series of reviews I’ll be filling your mind with ideas of how to fill your belly with some of the tastiest treats around during Lockdown and beyond.

I miss Pizza. Proper pizza. Wood fired, Neapolitan style pizza. I’ve spent a lot of time over the last few years in Naples and quickly took for granted how easy it was to get an incredible pizza. Since being back in High Wycombe I’ve struggled, but I’ve found a solution to my pizza problem. Knead Wood Fired Pizza.

Creating proper Neapolitan pizza, with a blistered base from the super fast 90 second cook in their 500 degrees wood fired ovens I can honestly say it tasted like being back in Naples. I went to collect my pizzas from their High Wycombe collection point, although, of course they deliver too. I saw their huge oven working its Pizza based magic and then had an insufferable car journey home as the smell of the freshly cooked pizza invaded my nostrils and it was all I could do to not pull over and grab a slice.

The light, salty and slightly charred base is exactly how it should be, the San Marzano tomato sauce zinged and the toppings were perfectly portioned. It’s the type of pizza that makes you say, ‘Oh this is good pizza’ the moment you bite into it. A world away from Dominos and all the better for it.

I don’t think you’ll find a better pizza in Bucks.

Knead Wood Fired Pizza is now available for delivery or collection in High Wycombe with a pop-up at Wild Training, Loudwater – collection and delivery to Penn, Beaconsfield, Wooburn Green, Flackwell Heath and Bourne End.
