Where Inspiration Blooms Supports Local Artists at Bucks Art Weeks
When Caroline Oden and Julia Cossins first came up with the plan for Where Inspiration Blooms, a Chartridge-based venue that offers art & craft workshops as well as wellbeing sessions including yoga, forest bathing and meditation, one of their dreams was to host local artists during Bucks Art Weeks. This dream is now coming true! With 11 artists showcasing their work at The Barn from 19-26th June.
The artists will have a wide range of pieces on display including paintings, prints, textiles, photographs, glasswork, jewellery, pottery & ceramics, sculpture and much more.
Co-founder Julia says: “One thing that we definitely didn’t expect when we set up Where Inspiration Blooms in 2018, was the COVID pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, but we were determined not to let this be the end of all our hard work. We have built up such a strong and supportive community at The Barn and it has been these people and their messages of hope that have kept us going.
“We are really pleased to be able to support Bucks Art Weeks as it has been an inspiration to both Caroline and I over the years. We have a really special venue here at The Barn and knew as soon as we opened that it would be the perfect backdrop for an exhibition by local artists. It has taken some time, but our dreams are now coming true and we are excited to see The Barn full of all these wonderful pieces of artwork.”
Not content with just offering visitors the opportunity to see the stunning art on display, Where Inspiration Blooms has collaborated with another local partnership to provide The Bloomin’ Café at The Barn. This pop-up café will offer a delicious range of homemade baked treats and light lunches alongside coffees and a wide selection of teas and cold drinks. The café is a partnership between Susie from The Angelic Cake Company and mother & daughter team, Meryl and Laura who have a passion for cooking and a long-time dream of owning a café together.
Caroline, co-founder of Where Inspiration Blooms adds: “There is something so magical about sharing the creative process and watching something move from a quick chat to reality. We are so pleased to support Susie, Laura and Meryl as they realise their dreams of running a café.
“This is what Where Inspiration Blooms is all about. Making dreams come true. It hasn’t been all plain-sailing, but at times like this, Julia and I have to pinch ourselves and realise that we have taken our plans, and turned them into something very special. For anyone who hasn’t come up to The Barn yet, why not take some time out of your hectic life, come up and see the art on display, treat yourself to a cake and a cup of coffee and enjoy the sense of calm that The Barn offers? We promise you won’t regret it.”
