Melissa Scott – Total Body Training – Yoga Review

Waking up in the morning is hard, for us anyway, but it’s worth it if you feel as good as we did at 9:45am on a Sunday morning. And the reason for us feeling so good – an hour’s yoga class with Melissa Scott – Total Body Training!

We have never been to such a wonderful venue for a workout! Chenies Manor house is the location and the room used for the yoga class is known as ‘the old dairy’.

In our eyes a workout room where you’re standing facing a mirror is the best kind of room! You can make sure your body position is exactly how it should be, whilst checking to match up with your instructor (on this occasion we had Kat), and you can also be a little nosey and watch others in the class to see how they’re doing!

There were only 4 of us for this specific class today which made it feel exclusive, almost like a private class, which we loved.

Our moves included the cobra, sphinx, plank, downward dog (a resting position if you can believe), upward dog, chair, extended triangle, locust, fish and many more.

We won’t deny that it was hard work. We left feeling like we had achieved something, and that our summer bodies would look the better for it. However, despite the hard work, it was relaxing.

The meditation at the end calmed our bodies and minds which felt wonderful. It was hard not to fall asleep, with the main lights off, blinds closed and subtle red lighting we could have stayed there all day. Perhaps it was the incense Kat used which helped us feel so chilled.

Kat told us that they sometimes workout outside on the grass, depending on the weather, which is something we’d love to try.

We couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. Kat had all the knowledge and made us feel comfortable and at ease.

If you’re looking for a yoga class to improve your health and well-being then we would highly recommend Melissa Scott – Total Body Training.

Melissa Scott – Total Body Training also runs other classes such as pilates, TRX, strength and conditioning, barre and coming soon, new BASEcamp classes at their private woodland. We haven’t had a chance to try these out yet, but hopefully we will soon!
