Much loved and steeped in local history, this 17th Century coaching inn has recently undergone a transformation, bringing together a fantastical blend of the old and the new.

With a number of places to dine, from the outside dining area in summer to the cosy fireplace in winter, this curious inn still retains some of its original characteristics. The restaurant has been updated into a brasserie style with floor to ceiling windows bringing a more spacious and bright atmosphere. The bar still features the traditional open fireplace, combined with a full makeover featuring new décor and furniture, in a refreshing aqua and taupe colour scheme. Plus the beautiful and much appreciated traditional British-Continental à la carte menu.

The 11 stunning new annex and rooms overlook the spectacular Chiltern countryside. The en-suite rooms offer a contemporary feel, while still blending some of the traditional features of the original coaching inn. This meeting of tranquil and rustic themes is then carried through the existing 19 individually styled bedrooms and suites, increasing the total room count to 30.

In this lighter and brighter update you can now also enjoy the conference suite which accommodates up to 50 people, with an inclusive breakout and refreshment area; tailored to your requirements. The hotel is also a great setting for locations and often plays host to wedding receptions and parties.

You can find The Chequers Inn tucked away in the heart of the Chilterns and just 24 miles outside London. It is the perfect country retreat and is in easy reach of the Thames Valley, High Wycombe, Marlow, Henley, Beaconsfield and Windsor. Originally a coaching Inn from the 17th Century the establishment has been owned by the Roehrig Family for the past 41 years. Led today by Nick and Emma, a second generation sister and brother duo, they have completed this stunning update without losing the essential character of the place. Not far from Cliveden, the Wycombe Caves, Windsor Castle and many more inspiring tourist attractions.
