Popped into the The Jolly Cricketers for a spot of lunch. Despite the fact it was a Tuesday lunchtime it was quite busy with a lovely atmosphere. We ordered a burger and a ploughman’s as we didn’t have much time. Being cold I also ordered a cup of tea to thaw my fingers – I didn’t fancy holding a cold glass!
The tea was presented as a lovely little china teacup and saucer, individual teapot and a yummy homemade shortbread biscuit. Very quaint, very English, and it did the job superbly.
When my Ploughmans arrived I was bowled over by the presentation – it looked beautiful served on the board, attention to detail is obviously the chef’s thing. The taste matched the look with homemade bread you can see from the photo. My husband’s burger was huge and very tasty too he tells me.
Would I recommend the Jolly Cricketers – yes, of course, it is really lovely. It isn’t cheap but if you love proper homemade food presented beautifully then this is the place to eat. It isn’t too expensive for what you get.
