Situated within the heart of the historic riverside town of Marlow, The Ivy Marlow Garden offers a relaxed dining experience.

The Ivy Marlow Garden opened in May 2017. If you are familiar with The Ivy in London you will recognise the iconic ivy branding everywhere in this sister restaurant. When the opportunity arose recently to sample Afternoon Tea we didn’t hesitate in saying “yes please”.

We were seated at a table beneath the beautifully decorated skylight which really brightened up the restaurant. Let’s face it, the weather has been appalling of late (at the time of writing anyhow) so we were pleased to dine in such bright surroundings.

Despite being Tuesday afternoon we were surprised at how full the restaurant was. Diners were a mixed bunch of young couples, families and “ladies who lunch”. There was plenty of atmosphere with the buzz of friendly chit-chat and casual conversation.

Seating ranges from high bar stools, to comfy leather sofas, to the all-important round tables (think we have mentioned before how much we love a round table!).

We began with a chilled glass of champagne (why wouldn’t we?) and then we indulged in a variety of sandwiches, scones and sweet delights. Unusually for afternoon tea we didn’t actually have any cake, instead we were served velvety chocolate mousse with hidden honeycomb gems, crème brulee doughnuts and perfect little raspberry tarts. Of course, everything looked and tasted delicious and it was all washed down with endless cups of an exclusive blend of Ivy Afternoon Tea.

A very pleasant afternoon indeed.

The Ivy Marlow Garden is open 7 days a week and features an all-day dining menu. As with it’s sister restaurants including The Ivy Chelsea Garden and The Ivy Clifton Brasserie in Bristol, the Ivy-inspired menu is all encompassing, serving breakfast, elevenses, weekend brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, light snacks, cocktails and dinner. As well as the main restaurant space, The Ivy Marlow Garden features a scenic garden (open within the summer months only), offering customers a tranquil oasis, al fresco escape and full menu.

As a celebration of the Summer Season, The Ivy Marlow Garden has added additional sweet treats to its already scrumptious afternoon tea offerings.

Available from Sunday, 1 July until Friday, 31 August, The Ivy Nursery Pot features an indulgent chocolate topping, lavender cream and edible flowers, creating a delight for both the eyes and the taste buds.

Served alongside savoury bites such as truffled chicken brioche rolls and smoked salmon on dark style rye bread with cream cheese and chives, it is the perfect accompaniment to ensure guests are left feeling content.

The Ivy Nursery Pot afternoon tea addition will also be available throughout ‘Afternoon Tea Week’ in August 2018.
