Second Space Programme of Events

A varied programme of events is on the horizon in Aylesbury Waterside Theatre’s smaller Second Space. The intimate performance space is fast becoming a hub for varied entertainment from comedy to mediumship, live screenings to darts exhibitions and much more. Located at the back of the theatre, the Second Space is a versatile area which can host both seated and standing events in a variety of different layouts. It is easily accessible with lift access and boasts its own facilities including a bar serving a large selection of light refreshments.

Live screenings hosted in the Second Space give audience members the chance to enjoy theatrical productions from some of the world’s most reputable companies and producers including Royal Opera House, Royal Shakespeare Company and National Theatre. With titles including Romeo and Juliet, As You Like It and All About Eve to name a few this season, the Second Space gets transformed into a cinematic showground – a must for theatre and film fans.

Screenings are also regularly shown for those living with dementia and their carers. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is flying onto the screen on Sun 14 Apr as the latest dementia-friendly film offering. A sporting event giving you the chance to take to the oche arrives with An Exhibition of Darts (Sat 24 Aug). A night of bullseyes and 180s with sporting legend, England’s Conan ‘the barbarian’ Whitehead, who will be joined by Lakeside World Champion Glen ‘Duzza’ Durrant with the ever-charismatic John Fowler calling the shots. A relaxed night of sporting fun with a bar available throughout.

International psychic medium Terri Stromeyer (Fri 5 Jul) will be engaging audiences with an evening of spirit communication through thoughts, memories and conversations. Terri reconnects with those who have passed over to the spirit world in this one-night only show.

Live music paying tribute to some of the music scene’s best-loved bands comes in the form of The ELO Encounter and their Blue Sky Tour delivering the greatest recognition to Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra, and The Searchers and Hollies Experience in the New Year features an incredible back catalogue of over 30 hit songs guaranteed to have you charmed with nostalgia as soon as you Walk In The Room.

A dining experience with a twist comes to the venue with Little Chico Productions’ Murder Mystery Dinner.
