Food & Drink Reviews

Spice Merchant

hiya bucks are particularly partial to an Indian meal, it’s something all of our family enjoy and the mere mention of a sag aloo gets us very excited.

When we found out that the fabulous Spice Merchant in Beaconsfield were delivering again, using their Feast-Online home delivery service, we didn’t hesitate to order. It couldn’t be more simple; visit https://www.feast-online.co.uk/, select your order from the menu, choose your delivery slot, make a payment, and have it delivered right to your doorstep, with social distancing measures in place at all times of course. Orders can be made up to 3 days in advance meaning there is finally something to look forward to at the weekend (or weekday if that’s your choosing).

As the three restaurants in the Spice Merchant family are currently closed due to Covid-19, it’s great to see they have worked hard on making sure safety measures are in place for their employees, and customers, whilst delivering excellent quality food at affordable prices.

Ordinarily we would be sitting in the beautiful garden, or conservatory, of Spice Merchant in Old Beaconsfield, their flagship restaurant. The weather these last few weeks would have been perfect for an outdoor meal with friends and family. However, that’s not to be at the moment but times will change, the lockdown will end, and we will be free to return to enjoy their hospitality once again.

For our takeaway we chose the lamb samosas with their traditional crispy pastry and full to the brim filling, the tandoori ocean tiger prawns which are always delicious, followed by a chicken dansak with our favourite sides; sag aloo, bhindi bhajee (we always choose to have okra), rice and a garlic naan which was almost a meal in itself. It was all delicious, simply delicious, with intense flavours taking us to a faraway land that we can only dream about these days; India is definitely on my bucket list!

Follow Spice Merchant on social media to keep up to date with what is happening during the lockdown and visit their website https://www.spicemerchantgroup.com/beaconsfield to browse the menu ready for your next order.
