Win a Christmas Turkey with Starveall Turkeys
Buckinghamshire farmers, Patrick and Mike Lambert, have been rearing Christmas turkeys for 30 years. Time and traditional values feature strongly in their approach, with their award-winning bronze turkeys free ranging on fresh grass all day.
Turkeys arrive as day-old chicks in June and are carefully reared until they mature. Free to roam by day, birds roost at night in airy barns on straw bedding grown on the farm – minimising food miles and keeping the ‘farm to fork’ experience as authentic as possible. Every part of the process is carefully overseen on-site: turkeys are dry plucked and hand finished, adding to their succulence and flavour.
The team were delighted to scoop another two-star Great Taste Award in September 2020 – one of only three producers in the country to be awarded two stars this year. Judges commented on the taste as ‘delightful’, ‘gently aromatic’, with ‘arguably the most flavourful, crisp yet succulent skin we’ve encountered.’
The Starveall team partner with local butchers across the county to supply customers, and turkeys can be ordered directly and collected from the farm gate too: an experience that kick-starts Christmas for many in the area.
As Mike Lambert reflects, “Our turkey is the centrepiece of the Christmas table and at the very heart of Christmas Day. Often it’s given as a gift to the hard-working host – a contribution to a family day which involves a huge amount of energy and fun!”
For many, 2020 has been incredibly challenging and Christmas is an opportunity to cherish friendships and family. In support of this, Starveall Turkeys would like to offer one reader the chance to win one of their award-winning turkeys – to be collected from the farm gate on either the 23rd or 24th December.
The turkey will be a minimum of 6kg and the lucky winner MUST be able to collect from the farm gate on the stated collection dates.
Postage/Delivery of this prize will not be possible.
